Data Transfer

  • A user guide for accessing data from outside the CLS can be found here.
    The procedure has changed recently. The document will be updated ASAP, but until then use the following rough guidelines:
    1. Go to the ftp://ex.lightsource.ca address with your FTP client or browser.
    2. Username: clsi\your_experiment_number (example: clsi\00-0000)
    3. Password: the password you had to chose at your first login in CLS

Wireless Network

  • CLS provides wireless network connections in the building for users to connect their own computers. Access details are located around the building on signs labeled “Guest Wireless Access”.

Software

  • Our spectrometers use OPUS 6.5 SP2 from Bruker Optics for data acquisition.

User Computer

  • This PC can be used for data analysis, accessing the shared EX domain files, surfing the web, and burn data DVDs. The computer has OPUS 6.5 SP2 installed. It is set-up to print on the color laser printer located in the user area of the beamline.
  • Users can log in with their experiment number (xx-xxxx) as user name onto the EX domain (ex\xx-xxxx or xx-xxxx@clsi).

FPA Analysis Computer

  • This Dell Studio XPS 8000 computer is dedicated to data processing and equipped with an Intel quad-core processor (Core i7-870) with 8 GiB of RAM, and an ATi 5770 GPU w/ 512 MiB RAM.
  • The computer has OPUS 6.5 SP2, Matlab 2008a, Cytospec, and OriginPro 8.0 installed.
  • Users can log in with their experiment number (xx-xxxx) as the “user name” onto the EX domain (ex\xx-xxxx or xx-xxxx@ex.clsi.ca).
  • If you require administrator privileges on this system, ask one of the staff scientists for assistance.
